Full view please. This is a 3D rendered animated butterfly. (Not an icon or avatar.) Modeled, rendered, and animated in Lightwave 3D. The still frames from the rendering were processed with Image Ready for simplified presentation on this web page.
My thanks to Shane Dorosh of the Department of Computer Science, University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for his help with the butterfly movement.
Wow - I love you how did the subtle ripples of the wings as they move. That really adds to its realism. I know you spent many days on this but in hours how long do you really think it took? It's lovely - definitely the best one you have done so far. Great job!
Wow a message from Cyprienne without emoticons. You're slipping.
This animation took about 30 minutes. And since this is the fourth one (although this is named III, it is still the IVth), the total animating effort took about 2 hours. What took most of the time was figuring out how in LW3D to match the keyframe in my layout to the drawings and animations Shane sent me. The original modelling of the butterfly took about an hour.

By the way, II was yanked by the DA police due to a misunderstanding. I haven't decided if I will re-post it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
